The after-effects of Hurricane Ike hit up here in Ohio yesterday. The winds were gusting trees over onto cars, roofs were caving in, fires were roaring, telephone poles were in the streets. It was nuts! Personally, dad's house had no damage but many other houses here in the neighborhood had either shingle damage or trees fell in their yards. Missy and Kameron stayed with us for most the day and we tried flying kites but the wind beat them up a bit and either snapped the string or broke the kite itself.
We also celebrated my big sister's birthday on Saturday over at Ihop for a hearty breakfast. Sofia seems to enjoy the atmosphere and I believe that Ross and Tricia enjoyed themselves too. I hope she loves her present as much as I do!
And Saturday night after work, I went over to Missy and Kameron's house and visited for a while. We watched Ice Age and played a couple of games. It was a blast.

So Ike made a visit to Kentucky and Ohio. I didn't send him to you--I would not wish that on anyone. Thanks for the pictures it makes me feel like I'm with you sometimes and know what's going on in your lives. Love to all Maw-maw
